Sarfaraz Khan Surprisingly Dropped, Iyer’s India Comeback Stalls as MCA Announce Ranji Trophy Squad
The Mumbai Cricket Association has announced the squad for the first two matches of the Ranji Trophy, which includes Shreyas Iyer but Sarfaraz Khan is missing!
One of Team India's star cricketers has been struggling to find his foot back on the national side. Shreyas Iyer has been away from action for Team India for quite a while. He has been on an on-off stage for the Men in Blue as he last featured for the India Blue in the away tour against Sri Lanka in an ODI series, which they lost 0-2. Iyer has been in action in the domestic circuit and is yet to find his way back into the national side. But it looks like he has to wait for a while.

Sarfaraz Khan Out, Shreyas Iyer in as Defending Champions MCA Unveil Ranji Trophy Squad
Shreyas Iyer has been out of the India Test squad after a streak of poor performances. The last time he featured for the national side was when they faced England in a home series, where he was dropped. Iyer put up a showcase which grabbed a lot of eyeballs in the Duleep Trophy after he scored 154 runs. He went on to score a half-century at the Irani Cup against the Rest of India squad. But it looks like the 29-year-old has to wait to find his way back into the Indian Cricket Team.
Sarfaraz Khan, who smashed a historic double-century while advancing to 222 in the Irani Cup match, is predicted to be included in the India squad for the Tests against New Zealand, according to a report in PTI. Interestingly, the Mumbai-based hitter hasn't been named for the team's October 11 Ranji opener against Baroda. He is reported to be at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
Defending Champions MCA will lock horns against Baroda on October 11, and then they will be facing Maharashtra at home on October 18. The second red-ball match will be coinciding with the India-New Zealand Serie, which begins on 16th October.
