South Africa cricket captain under scanner for supporting Israel's offensive in Gaza
Cricket South Africa have set an independent inquiry for South Africa's U19 captain David Teeger for his pro-Israel comments over their war crisis with Hamas.

In the midst of Israel's ongoing military operation in the Gaza Strip of Palestine, South Africa's U19 captain, David Teeger, openly expressed support for Israel during a public event in South Africa. While many cricketers have been showing solidarity with Palestine, instances have occurred where players faced repercussions for expressing their stance or support for any of the involved countries.

David Teeger to go under probe for pro-Israel comments
South Africa's U19 team skipper David Teeger will reportedly undergo an independent probe for his pro comments for Israel, which he made during an award show in the country. As per News 24, Teeger had said:
Yes, I’ve been [given] this award, and yes, I'm now the Rising Star, but the true rising stars are the young soldiers in Israel.
David Teeger's statement was raised by the Palestine Solidarity Alliance to Cricket South Africa which registered a complaint about the issue. CSA has taken the issue seriously and has now laid an independent inquiry against Teeger. CSA said in a statement:

The board resolved to appoint an independent inquiry to be adjudicated by Adv Wim Trengove SC to determine whether Mr Teeger breached either the CSA or Central Gauteng Lions codes of conduct. The inquiry will be conducted expeditiously and the decision of Adv Trengove as well as his reasons will be made public.

Inquiry to decide David Teeger's availability in next year's U19 World Cup
The independent inquiry will decide David Teeger's future and availability in the next year's U19 World Cup which was shifted from Sri Lanka to South Africa a few days back.
