Aakash Chopra schools Mohammad Hafeez ahead of the IND vs PAK match
Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez sparked debate on social media by voicing worries about the condition of the ground in the 2023 World Cup. He asked who was in charge of organising the tournament — the BCCI or the ICC. Hafeez's comments went viral, especially after he shared pictures of the Chennai pitch from a recent World Cup match. Aakash Chopra, a former India opener, responded. Hafeez stated in an interview with Pakistan's PTV Sports that the state of the Chepauk pitch during the Bangladesh vs New Zealand game would indicate the impact of the BCCI or ICC. He subsequently brought up issues regarding pitch standards by comparing the pitches from other games.
Aakash addressed the differences in pitch behaviour at the same location and offered an explanation for the issues expressed. He underlined that during the World Cup, spectators should anticipate this common occurrence in every stadium. He posted on X:
