The Afghanistan cricket team achieved a famous win against England in the match 13 of the ICC ODI World Cup by 69 runs. Afghani spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman was the hero of the victory and picked up a three wicket haul in the ENG vs AFG 2023 match and was adjudged the Player of the Match. This was Afghanistan's second win in the history of the ODI World Cup. 3

Afghani kid breaks down in tears and hugs Mujeeb Ur Rahman after Afghanistan's historic win

Afghani spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman dedicated his Player of the Match award to the earthquake victims in Afghanistan. However, the win was very special for Afghanistan and it had a lot of emotions attached to it. Such emotions were seen on the field as an Afghan kid was seen hugging Mujeeb and started crying.

England have plenty to worry about after their defeat against Afghanistan

Ahead of the tournament the English cricket team was praised by many cricket for the depth in its batting and bowling. However, the English team's start of the tournament is not the way they would have liked and have two games out of the three played till now. All rounder Ben Stokes, who returned to the side is yet to play a match in the CWC 2023 and has been out of selection due to an injury. The English team has a lot of things to address after the 69 run defeat against Afghanistan and if they don't work on these problems, this can certainly result in their elimination from the tournament.
