Angelo Mathews came out to bat after the dismissal of Sadeera Samarawickrama, but the strap of his helmet malfunctioned and he couldn't take guard in the stipulated time. Shakib Al Hasan appealed to the umpire and Mathews was timed out. Mathews requested Shakib to take the appeal back but in vain.

However, on Wednesday, Allan Donald expressed his disappointment over the incident and his opposition to such dismissals. He stated that Bangladesh does not condone such actions and mentioned that his immediate reaction was to consider stepping onto the field and conveying that the team does not stand for such practices.

Will BCB take action against Allan Donald?

According to several media reports, BCB officials have taken notice of Allan Donald's comments and intend to have a conversation with the former South African fast bowler to seek an explanation regarding his statement. A lackluster performance in the ongoing ODI World Cup has increased pressure on the BCB, and they are likely to make changes to the current support staff.

Bangladesh will face Australia in their final ODI World Cup match on Saturday in Pune, with their chances of qualification for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at stake.
