Team India achieve fifth straight win in the ODI World Cup 2023

Winning the toss and batting first, the New Zealand cricket team didn't start off well and was 19/2 at one stage. However, the Kiwi duo of Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra added 159 runs for the third and took their team out of trouble. Mitchell went on to score a century and played an innings of 130 runs off 127 balls. Ravindra completed yet another half-century in the CWC 2023 and played a knock of 75 runs off 87.

After the departure of Rachin Ravindra, it didn't take much time for the Indian pacers to restrict the Kiwi team and at last, they were bundled for a score of 273 runs. Pacer Mohammad Shami anchored India's comeback and picked up his second fifer in the ODI World Cup.

Chasing the target, the Indian team got off to a steady start as openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill added 71 runs off 67 balls. However, Rohit and Gill went back to the dressing room, the Indian team struggled in the middle overs and lost wickets of Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul in quick succession.

Now all the onus was on Virat Kohli who played as per the expectations and guided his team to yet another victory. The Indian team defeated New Zealand in an ICC tournament after a gap of 20 years and now will take on England in its next clash.
