After a long deserved break Team India will be back on the field as they are scheduled to face defending champions Egland in Lucknow on 29 October. Having won their first five matches the hosts are running in full confidence and the Three Lions will have a tough task to cut out. England have managed to grind out a single victory so far.

3 things you need to know

Harbhajan Singh suggested inclusion of veteran spinner against England

Kuldeep Yadav’s form has been good, but I wonder if we will get to see three spinners play in the next game - Kuldeep, [Ravindra] Jadeja and Ashwin. It could be a possibility since England do not play spin well. As it is, England are not playing well in the World Cup, and if the ball starts spinning, I don’t think they will be able to do much better. Playing three spinners might not be a bad option. Siraj can be rested. He has played back-to-back games. Shami has just come into the playing XI and has claimed a five-fer.

Mohammad Shami picked up a five-for in the last match while both Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj have been in good momentum. Harbhajan opined that Siraj can pave the way for Ashwin.

India have won their last five matches

India's plethora of options has allowed them to take some risks while selecting their combinations and it has paid off so far. Hardik Pandya suffered an ankle injury against Bangladesh but his absence hasn't been felt so far. The Indian vice-captain will not play against England and Team India do have the luxury to afford some casualty.

India has relied on their pacers so far but ahead in the tournament spinners will play a pivotal role as things stand. Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh suggested India should field an extra spinner against the defending champions and Ravichandran Ashwin should be drafted into the side.
