In a rain-shortened Super Eights encounter, South Africa defeated hosts West Indies by three wickets using the Duckworth Lewis system to advance to the T20 World Cup semifinals. When put to bat, West Indies amassed 135 for 8 thanks to 52 off 42 balls from Roston Chase. When rain interrupted play, South Africa's response was 15/2 after two overs. South Africa was given a revised goal of 123 in 17 overs after the match was cut short by three overs. The Proteas were the second team to qualify for the World Cup's last four stages after eliminating the hosts in 16.1 overs.

ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, Super 8s Points Table
After the South Africa vs West Indies clash, it has been determined on who will be heading to the Group B side, as the Proteas and the defending Champions, England, will move ahead in the semifinal stage.
