Despite dominating throughout the tournament, the Men in Blue failed to provide any competition to the Aussies in the final.

PM Modi went to the dressing room after the completion of the match as he was seen consoling the Indian players as they endured a tough day on the pitch. Pointing out to that particular meeting Shami insisted when someone like the Indian PM comes and gives everyone a morale boost it definitely provides one with more confidence.

The Indian fast bowler said, "At that time we had lost the match, in such a situation when the Prime Minister gives you confidence, it is a different moment. It is very important. Because morale goes down, then if your PM is with you then confidence increases."

Mohammed Shami ended the campaign as the highest wicket-taker with 24 scalps to his name.
