Batting first at the Wankhede Stadium, the Indian cricket team lost skipper Rohit Sharma early for a score of 4 runs courtesy of a beauty from Sri Lankan pacer Dilshan Madushanka. However, Team India was brought back in control by Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill as the duo added 189 runs for the second wicket. Gill and Virat missed out on well-deserved hundreds and got out for 92 and 88 runs respectively. The innings was given a firm push by Shreyas Iyer's 82-run knock and at the end, Team India ended 50 overs at 357/8.
