A young Indian fans' day was made when he awarded the fielding medal to Mohammed Siraj after Team India defeated Ireland at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.

Team India came to the United States intending to return to their winning ways and end the longstanding title drought as they officially begin their campaign in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. The Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue defeated Ireland in their group-stage opener as they chased the given score rather easily. After the match, one of the team's most prominent ceremonies, the fielding medal award, has officially made a return. After the match, the event was held in the presence of all the players, and the award ceremony made a little fan's day very special.

Team India's Fielder of the Match medal returns to T20 World Cup, Siraj adjudged as the winner by a young Indian fan

After the end of the India vs Ireland match, the Men in Blue were seen in the dressing room as the fielding coach T. Dilip brought back the ceremony which was a fan-favourite during the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. The Rohit Sharma-led side were seen jubilant as they opened their campaign with a win.

A young Indian fan in the US was selected to present the medal to the exceptional fielder of the IND vs IRE match at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. The bowling coach named Rishabh Pant and Mohammed Siraj as the two contenders and introduced the fan as Yuzvendra Chahal brought him to the team. The young fan congratulated both contenders and went on to present the medal to Siraj. The pacer hugged him in glee as the teams gave him applause.

Against Ireland, Team India put on an excellent bowling show, taking their opponents to task before they could score more than 100 runs. The Indian cricket team faced some early troubles at the bat while they were batting second. Rohit Sharma was forced to walk off injured, and Virat Kohli lost his wicket cheaply. But in the end, Rohit and company prevailed over Ireland in their opening group-stage match at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The next game the Men in Blue will play is at Nassau County Stadium in New York against their bitter rivals, Pakistan.
