India posted a mammoth 410/4 in 50 overs in their final league-stage match of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. In the clash against the Netherlands, all four top-order batters from the Indian lineup contributed with Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul slamming centuries. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill smashed a half-century each to their names. This is India's highest innings total in the ongoing ODI World Cup and their fourth-highest in ODIs overall.

‘Batting fireworks on Diwali’: Ravi Shastri

KL Rahul reached his century off just 62 balls, the fastest by an Indian batter in the history of the ODI World Cup. Shreyas Iyer, on the other hand, scored an unbeaten 128 off just 94 balls. This is his maiden hundred in the ODI World Cup. The high-octane performance from the Indian team has come on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, a festival celebrated throughout the country.

Commentator and former India captain, Ravi Shastri, aptly described the outstanding batting performance by the Indian players as "fireworks on Diwali."

The Netherlands will now need 411 runs to win the match, which appears highly unlikely as Indian bowlers have been very lethal in the ongoing tournament. India will look to end the league stage of the ODI World Cup 2023 on a positive note. India are the only team in the competition that has not lost even a single match thus far. Rohit Sharma and Co. will be eager to keep that record intact going into the semi-final.
