India vs Bangladesh: What happens if the match is washed out?

According to weather reports, there is a 23% chance of rain during the India vs Bangladesh Super 8 match on Saturday. However, sunny weather is expected throughout the fixture. If the match is impacted by rain and is washed out, both teams will be awarded one point each as there is no provision for a reserve day in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Can India be stopped from qualifying for the knockouts of T20 World Cup 2024?

If the Rohit Sharma-led India lose their remaining Super 8 fixtures against Bangladesh and Australia, and Afghanistan win their respective games, the Men in Blue may miss out on qualifying for the knockouts of the T20 World Cup 2024. Even if India win against Bangladesh today and go on to lose against Australia in their final Super 8 match, India's chances will become gloomy. However, Bangladesh will have to defeat Afghanistan by a huge margin in case India go down against Australia.
