The Indian team is unbeaten in the CWC 2023 so far and scored 358/7 while batting first against the Lankan lions at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After blowing away Sri Lanka in the finals of the 2023 Asia Cup, Team India pacer Mohammed Siraj continued his dominance against the Lankan team and has already removed the first three of the four Sri Lankan batters while defending 359 runs. Siraj took a six-wicket haul in the Asia Cup 2023 final against Sri Lanka whereas he removed their skipper Kusal Mendis for 1 run and did his famous CR7 inspired ‘Siuu’ celebration.

Team India wrapped up Sri Lanka for 50 runs in the finals of the 2023 Asia Cup and it was pacer Mohammed Siraj who picked up six wickets for just 21 runs and played an important in India's seventh Asia Cup win. Siraj, who is also the number three ranked ODI bowler has played an important role for the team in picking up early and has assisted Mohammed Shami brilliantly in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah.
