The Maharashtra Cricket Association in Pune will host an ICC One-Day International World Cup match between the Indian cricket team and Bangladesh on Thursday, October 19, 2023. MSK Prasad makes a huge statement ahead of the India vs Bangladesh match

The skilled players in India's ODI World Cup squad include veteran bowler Mohammed Shami and superstar Suryakumar Yadav. On occasion, though, the team management has chosen to leave a number of match-winning players off the starting lineup. There is now conjecture as to whether India may think about changing for their next game against Bangladesh. One topic of discussion is whether Mohammed Shami ought to start in lieu of Shardul Thakur in the starting lineup.

MSK Prasad, the former head selector, has shed light on the circumstances in which India PTI,  he said:

"They are using horses for courses and it is working fantastically well for the team. If you see they used Ashwin in Chennai and Shardul for the other two games (in Delhi and Ahmedabad). Last game, Shardul was not required as the others did the job (he bowled only two overs)."

MSK Prasad opens up on Mohammed Shami's inclusion

Before the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, in the first ODI of India's bilateral series, Mohammed Shami showed off his ability to win matches by taking five wickets against Australia last month. Though Shami has put on an outstanding display, he has missed India's opening three World Cup matches against Australia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. 

"Shami will come into the picture if they want to rotate Siraj. Replacements are very clear right now, Sky will replace Shreyas if there is a need, Ishan will replace Gill at the top and Shardul will play if it is a flat deck. Aswhin will come in his place if it is a turning track."

With a notable record of 171 wickets in 94 One-Day Internationals for India, this 33-year-old bowler will be looking to use his experience if he plays against Bangladesh.
