Nepal captain involved in fiery exchange with Bangladesh pacer in tense T20 World Cup game - WATCH
Bangladesh joined Australia, India, Afghanistan, the West Indies, England, South Africa, and the United States in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Bangladesh and Nepal locked horns against each other in their final group-stage game of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. The match turned out to be a thriller as Bangladesh bowlers managed to defend a low score of 106 runs. The Tigers bowled out Nepal for 85 runs in 19.2 overs, thus winning by a margin of 21 runs. With the victory, Bangladesh became the final team to qualify for the Super 8 stage of the tournament.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Rohit Paudel involved in heated altercation
Meanwhile, a fiery incident took place during the match between Bangladesh and Nepal. Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Nepal skipper Rohit Paudel were involved in a heated exchange during the second innings of the match. The incident occurred in the third over of Nepal's chase when Paudel was batting in the middle.
Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who had just dismissed Nepal openers Kushal Bhurtel and Anil Sah, saw the opportunity to build pressure on Rohit Paudel after bowling two dot balls to him. After bowling the final ball of the over, Sakib walked towards Paudel and exchanged words with him. Paudel also didn't hold back and gave it back to Sakib. Both players were then separated by their respective teammates.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib eventually managed to get the better of Rohit Paudel, dismissing him for 1 off 6 balls in the 5th over. Sakib picked up a four-wicket haul and was named the Player of the Match for his bowling figures of 4/7.
Bangladesh's first Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled against the mighty Australians. The match between Bangladesh and Australia will take place at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on June 21. Bangladesh will then play against India on the same ground on June 22. Bangladesh's final Super 8 game is scheduled against Afghanistan on June 25.
