Virat Kohli ensures another dominating win for India in the 2023 ODI World Cup

Batting first in Kolkata, Team India put up a first-inning total of 326/5 courtesy of a brilliant hundred from Indian batter Virat Kohli. Kohli slammed his fourth ODI World Cup century in the India vs South Africa CWC 2023 and also levelled Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar's record of most ODI hundreds (49). The Indian team was offered a steady start by the Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill and the duo added 65 runs for the first wicket. After the departure of Rohit and Shubman, Shreyas Iyer added 134 runs for the third wicket with Virat and gave much-needed stability to the innings. Iyer played an innings of 77 runs and scored his third CWC 2023 half-century. The innings was given a brilliant finish by Ravindra Jadeja as the batter played a cameo knock of 29 runs off 15 balls.

Chasing the target, the Indian bowlers didn't allow South Africa to enter the match at any point and half of the Proteas team was back in the hut for a mere score of 40 runs. It didn't take much time for the Indian bowlers to wrap up the South Africa innings and they were bundled for 83 runs. Ravindra Jadeja ended the innings with a five-wicket haul.
