'You've been robbed there': Netizens slam DRS after review deems Steve Smith out, batter bewildered

Australian batter Steve Smith was left shocked after he was given out by the umpire LBW in the AUS vs SA ODI World Cup 2023 match being played in Lucknow.

After registering a 102-run win against Sri Lanka in their opening ODI World Cup 2023 match, South Africa are playing against Australia in their second match of the tournament. Australia were handed a six-wicket defeat by India in their opening CWC 2023 clash and will look forward to get their first win of the tournament.

Steve Smith stunned after LBW dismissal in the AUS vs SA CWC 2023 match

The Australian team didn't start off well while chasing down 312 runs in the AUS vs SA CWC 2023 match and was reduced to 56-4 in the space of the first 12 overs. Australian team lost wickets in quick succession and batters like David Warner and Steve Smith were dismissed for scores of 13 and 19 runs respectively. While Warner was dismissed by a catch taken by Rassie van der Dussen, Smith had to walk back after he was caught in front by a delivery bowled by Kagiso Rabada. Smith was not given out by the umpire on the first instant, but the umpire's decision was overturned by a DRS call taken by South Africa. The replay showed that Smith was in front of the stumps, which also left the Aussie batter shocked.

South African opener Quinton de Kock continued his dream form with the bat and slammed his second consecutive ton in the first innings of the AUS vs SA CWC 2023 match. de Kock played an innings of 109 runs which was followed by Aiden Markram's 56-run knock. de Kock helped the Proteas post a brilliant first innings score of 311/7 and has also put them forward in the match.
