After losing the toss, Afghanistan decided to bat first and in their 20 overs they managed a respectable 148/6. With a skillful 60 off 49 balls, Rahmanullah Gurbaz stood out, helped along by Ibrahim Zadran's solid 51 off 48 deliveries. With notable contributions from Karim Janat (13 off 9) and Mohammad Nabi (10 off 4) the Afghan innings was a blend of tenacity and attack. The bowler of the day was Australia's Pat Cummins, who claimed 3/28 in his four overs. Adam Zampa added 2/28.

In reply, Australia's innings got off to a terrible start as Naveen-ul-Haq struck early, knocking Travis Head for a duck in the first over. Mitchell Marsh (12 off 9) and David Warner (3 off 8) were unable to have a big effect as the Australian top order collapsed under pressure. Glenn Maxwell put up a heroic 59 off 41 balls, but the middle and lower order was unable to provide the required support.

Afghanistan's hero was Gulbadin Naib, whose match-winning spell destroyed the Australian batting order. Naib's remarkable 4/20 in four overs featured the vital wickets of Pat Cummins (3 off 9) Marcus Stoinis (11 off 17). With 3/20, Naveen-ul-Haq matched Naib's efforts; Rashid Khan and Azmatullah Omarzai also provided a wicket.

Australia collapsed to 127 all out in 19.2 overs as a result of the bowlers from Afghanistan applying constant strain. With his last-wicket, Azmatullah Omarzai gave the Afghan players and supporters a wild celebration. This win upends Australia's hopes of dominating all game types at once and also marks Afghanistan's ascent in international cricket.

This momentous victory demonstrates Afghanistan's developing strength in Twenty20 cricket. Player of the Match went rightfully to Gulbadin Naib for his amazing effort. This game will go down as a pivotal point in Afghanistan's cricketing history as they maintain their chances for the World Cup.
