With this, Rohit became the first Indian skipper in 20 years to take a wicket in a World Cup match. Sourav Ganguly was the last player, who led the side and also picked up wickets in a World Cup game. He got the scalps in the 2003 edition of the event. Besides Ganguly and Sharma, the only other captain to accomplish this record is the legendary Kapil Dev, who took 17 wickets combined in the 1983 and 1987 World Cups.
