'Break my record': Sachin Tendulkar is in complete awe of Virat Kohli as he equals his ODI record
Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar wished Virat Kohli for levelling his record of most ODI tons after Virat scored his 49th ODI century in the IND vs SA match.

Team India batter Virat Kohli's wonderful run in the ongoing ODI World Cup continued as he slammed his 49th ODI ton in the IND vs SA match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The right-handed batsman equalled Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar's record of most tons in ODI and became the fastest batsman to achieve the milestone. Virat played an unbeaten innings of 101 runs which consisted of 10 fours.

Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar didn't waste much to praise Virat Kohli for levelling his major record and shared an appreciation post for Virat on his official Instagram handle. Sachin Tendulkar's post read:
Virat Kohli has admired Sachin Tendulkar as his idol and has always had the urge to do well for the country just like Tendulkar did during his playing days. Virat is just 21 international centuries away from levelling Sachin's record of 100 hundreds in international. The record is very far but Virat has also the qualities to level the major feat.

Virat Kohli's ton set a challenging target for South Africa
Team India started off well while batting first in the India vs South Africa CWC 2023 match and the openers added 62 runs for the first wicket. After the departure of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli took charge and started to anchor the innings from one end. Virat added 134 runs with Shreyas Iyer for the third wicket and put the pressure back on the Proteas bowlers. Iyer missed out on a hundred and played an innings of 77 runs off 87 balls. However, Virat stood at the other end and ensured that Team India set up a challenging first-innings score for South Africa. Apart from Virat, Ravindra Jadeja gave a much-needed finish to the innings and played a cameo knock of 29 runs off 15 balls.
