Shamsi, who was named the Player of the Match for his excellent bowling performance of four wickets and conceding 60 runs in 10 overs, humbly reflected on the unpredictability of cricket. He noted, "You have played enough cricket to understand that sometimes it goes your way and sometimes it doesn't go your way. Probably, shouldn't have been here with the pads on but I will take it."

The 33-year-old spinner expressed his joy at the hard-earned victory, emphasising the significance of such moments in a player's career. He particularly lauded Keshav Maharaj for his calm and composed batting display, which ultimately led to South Africa's triumph. Maharaj scored seven runs off 21 balls, including the all-important winning boundary against Pakistan.
