Stumper Dinesh Karthik returns to Team India dressing room, presents the Best Fielder award
For the Best Fielder medal ceremony, Dinesh Karthik made a return to the India dressing room as he presented the medal after India defeated England in semis.

Team India has been a wrecking ball throughout the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 as they powered through all of their opponents. The Men in Blue scrammed their way into Super 8 and even the semifinal stage after they defeated all their adversaries and trounced England into the semifinal. In the dressing room, the team's mood was jubilant after they were able to avenge the previous edition's loss as ENG were the ones who kicked India out of the semifinals. The customary medal ceremony for the best fielder was held after the game, and he invited one of the team's former players, to present the honours.

After Team India trounced England in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup semifinal, fielding coach T Dilip hosted the Best Fielder medal ceremony in the entire team's presence. He congratulated the team's masterclass in all sectors, especially the squad's fielding instincts which allowed them to bowl England out. He nominated Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav and Rishabh Pant as the contenders for the medal. T Dilip then invited one of the team's iconic stumpers, Dinesh Karthik, to the team dressing room.
Dinesh Karthik hailed the team's performance and recalled what happened in 2022 against England in the Semis and called it a fabulous turnaround. DK then presented the medal to wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant and hailed his recovery journey from what looked like a career-ending accident to successfully making an IPL return and then having an exemplary comeback on the national side.

Pant has been a solid star in his comeback as he has been impactful on most occasions for the Team. He has been an effective top-order batter and also does a brilliant job behind the stumps.

After India defeated England and South Africa trounced Afghanistan, two undefeated sides will compete in the final as the Men in Blue and The Proteas lock horns in the summit clash at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. Expect it to be a thrilling encounter between both sides.
