Australia on Sunday defeated India to win their sixth ODI World Cup title. The Pat Cummins-led side won the final by six wickets as they secured yet another 50-over World Cup title to main their run as the most successful team in the format. Over 1,00,000 fans were in attendance when India went down against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Up until the ODI World Cup final on Sunday, India had won all their games and were the most dominant team in the tournament. However, Australia became a different beast altogether and became the only side to beat India in the 2023 edition.

Wishes poured in for the Australian men's cricket team from all over the world after their sensational win in the final of the ODI World Cup, which everyone thought was India's to lose. England's Test captain Ben Stokes took to his official social media handle to congratulate Australia for winning the coveted trophy. His post came a day after Australia lifted the ODI World Cup.
Ben Stokes was also part of the ODI World Cup 2023 as he represented defending champions England in the competition. Stokes personally did not have a great campaign and neither did his England team. The 2019 champions finished seventh in the points table and failed to qualify for the knockout stage.
