India have sealed a place in the ODI World Cup 2023 final for the fourth time as they defeated New Zealand in the semifinal by 70 runs at the Wankhede Stadium. Virat Kohli's 50th ODI ton helped India to post a massive 397 runs on the board. Mohammed Shami's third five-fer of this World Cup proved to be enough as team India avenged their 2019 World Cup defeat in style.

It was Virat Kohli again who broke Sachin Tendulkar's records to etch his name on the history books. Shreyas Iyer also shoed his class once again as he brought up his second consecutive World Cup hundred. New Zealand didn't have a good start but came back on a strong note with Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell forging a much needed partnership. But it was Mohammeds Shami once again as he broke the stand and went on to record his best figure in ODIs as India will await either of Australia or South Africa in the summit clash.
