Virat Kohli once again hogged the limelight with his silky smooth batting skills in Dharamsala. The 34 year old missed out on what could have been his 49th ODI century. India defeated New Zealand by four wickets to maintain their perfect start.

The stage was ideal for the RCB batter and the chase master did what he was doing best. He started the proceedings by partnering with the likes of Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer and finished the job with Ravindra Jadeja who stayed at the crease to ensure the chase didn't collapse. Earlier, Daryl Mitchell's fifth World Cup hundred and Rachin Ravindra's solid 75 helped the Kiwis to post a handsome 273 runs on the board.

Disney+Hotstar recorded 4.3 crore viewership

Rohit Sharma and Gill paved the way for a run chase and Virat made merry as the New Zealand bowlers looked clueless. Disney+Hotstar created a viewership record of 4 crores during the India vs New Zealand match. The concurrent viewership in this match hit a record new high as a whopping 4.3 crore people were watching simultaneously when Virat Kohli was on the verge of equalising Sachin Tendulkar's record.

Earlier the India-Pakistan clash saw a huge viewership of 3.5 crore but this World Cup clash in Dharamsala surpassed that record.

Hardik Pandya wasn't involved in this match as he was ruled out and Suryakumar Yadav came in for his place while Shardul Thakur was replaced by Mohammad Shami. India will now face defending champions England in the next game in Lucknow.
