Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan once again freed his dancing feet and showcased his moves, celebrating another victory of Afghanistan in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. On Friday, Afghanistan won their fourth match of the competition, defeating Netherlands by seven wickets. With the win, Afghanistan have climbed to 5th spot on the points table.

CWC 2023: Irfan Pathan celebrates Afghanistan's victory
Irfan Pathan has once again made it known that he is a staunch supporter of the Afghanistan team, and cherishes the team's success in the World Cup 2023. After celebrating the team's victory over Pakistan, Pathan was evidently delighted to witness the team's convincing performance against the Netherlands. He took to Instagram to display his contentment with the team and let his feet do the talking. Additionally, he wrote a message for the squad on the photo-sharing platform, stating that the focus now is on Afghanistan's batting exploits rather than their bowling.
“The Afghan team’s performance in this World Cup has shifted the conversation from their bowling to their remarkable batting. Kudos to them for their consistent displays,” Pathan posted on Instagram.

Afghanistan's fourth win in World Cup 2023 keep them in the hunt to make it to the semi-finals. Afghanistan now has eight points from seven games, and are just a whisker away from cementing a spot in the top 4. Moreover, through this impressive performance, Afghanistan have secured qualification for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

In the match against the Dutch, bowling first Afghanistan restricted Netherlands to a small total of 179 runs. The teenage wonder Noor Ahmad picked up two wickets and Mohammed Nabi snared away with three wickets. With 58 runs off 86 balls, Sybrand Engelbrecht became the only batter from the Netherlands to reach the half-century mark.
Having scored more than 250 runs in this World Cup on a consistent basis, Afghanistan's batting cruised towards the total with confidence. Rahmat Shah and captain Hashmatullah Shahidi both produced half-centuries to get to the score in just 32nd over of the innings.
Afghanistan will next take on Australia. The two will square off in Mumbai on November 7, 2023.
