Shubman Gill's fitness issue has been a severe concern as the Indian opener is yet to contribute to India's cause. The Gujarat Titans opener contracted dengue and wasn't a part of the first two World Cup games. However, things have changed a bit in the last couple of days as the player reached Ahmedabad on Wednesday night and also reportedly had an extensive session in the nets on Thursday morning. Yuvraj Singh who shares a very cordial relationship with Shubman Gill insisted he shared a pep talk with the youngster and he is hopeful that the player will be ready for the game.

As quoted by ANI, he said, “Shubman Gill ko maine tagda kar diya hai [I have strengthened Shubman Gill]. I told him that I had played in the World Cup while battling cancer, so I got ready quickly to join the team. Hopefully, he will be ready for the India vs Pakistan game. When you have a fever and dengue it is really tough to play a cricket match and I have experienced that. So I hope that if he is fit then he will definitely play.”
