Shubman Gill's fitness issue has been a severe concern as the Indian opener is yet to contribute to India's cause. The Gujarat Titans opener contracted dengue and wasn't a part of the first two World Cup games. However, things have changed a bit in the last couple of days as the player reached Ahmedabad on Wednesday night and also reportedly had an extensive session in the nets on Thursday morning. I told him that I had played in the World Cup while battling cancer, so I got ready quickly to join the team. Hopefully, he will be ready for the India vs Pakistan game. When you have a fever and dengue it is really tough to play a cricket match and I have experienced that. So I hope that if he is fit then he will definitely play.”
