In preparation for the upcoming Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have made a strong statement by retaining 11 key players. The team has secured the services of Indian international stars, including their captain, Smriti Mandhana, the dynamic wicket-keeper batter Richa Ghosh, and the formidable pacer Renuka Singh.

In a show of diversity, RCB have also retained three accomplished foreign players: Ellyse Perry, Sophie Devine, and Heather Knight. The team's commitment to nurturing talent from within was evident as they retained the promising Shreyanka Patil, Kanika Ahuja, and Asha Sobhana, who impressed during the inaugural edition of the WPL.

The lineup also includes the talented batter Disha Kasat and the dynamic wicketkeeper-batter Indrani Roy. With a total of 11 retentions, RCB have seven slots to fill at the upcoming WPL auction and a purse of INR 3.35 Cr to spend.

The retention and release process saw a total of 60 players retained across five franchises, with 21 overseas cricketers making the cut, while 29 players were released from their respective squads. As the anticipation builds for the Women's Premier League 2024, RCB's squad is shaping up to be a formidable force.
