CWG 2022, Last Day Live updates: Sharath Kamal bags TT gold, Hockey Team takes silver

India finished the 2022 Commonwealth Games campaign with a total of 61 medals. India won 22 gold, 16 silver, and 23 bronze medals. 

The Indian team won the silver medal in the Men's Hockey Final after losing 7-0 to Australia. 

Australia scored the seventh goal in the fourth quarter to extend the lead over India to 7-0. 

The Australian team has scored another goal in the third quarter to take 6-0 lead over India in the Men's Hockey final.  

Sharath Kamal won his third Commonwealth Games gold medal in the men's singles category after defeating England's Liam Pitchford 4-1.  

Satwik Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won the gold medal in the Men's Doubles event. They beat English pair Ben Lane and Sean Bendy 2-0 to win the top honour. 

The India team conceived three more goals in the second quarter to give Australia a lead of 5-0 in the Men's Hockey final. 

Sharath Kamal made an impressive comeback in his gold medal match against Liam Pitchford to take 3-1 lead. 

The Australian Hockey Team has extended the lead over India to 2-0. Australia scored two goals in the first quarter of the gold medal match. 

Sharath Kamal lost the first set against England's Liam Pitchford 11-13. 

Sharath Kamal won the second set against Liam Pitchford 11-7 to level the score at 1-1. 

The Australian Hockey Team has scored the first goal in the first quarter to take a 1-0 lead over the Indian side in their gold medal match.  

G Sathiyan won the bronze medal in the men's singles event after beating England's Paul Drinkhall 4-3. 

G Sathiyan lost the sixth set against Paul Drinkhall to level the score at 3-3. They will now play a deciding seventh game for the bronze medal in the men's singles event. 

Lakshya Sen beat Malaysia's Tze Yong Ng 2-1 to win the gold medal in the Men's Singles event. He beat Tze Yong 21-19, 9-21, 16-21 to win the top prize. 

Lakshya Sen has extended his lead in the third game against Tze Yong Ng. He is looking good to winning the men's singles gold medal. 

Lakshya Sen made an incredible comeback to win the second game against Tze Yong Ng to level the score at 1-1. 

After losing the opening game, Lakshay Sen is currently leading the second game 11-8 at interval

PV Sindhu wins the gold medal after winning bronze and silver in the previous two editions of the Commonwealth Games.

PV Sindhu has one-point lead but both shuttlers are matching point for point with no room for error. Sindhu has some strapping on her left leg and Li is making her work for every point.

PV Sindhu had to fight hard before beating Singapore's Yeo Jin Min in her semifinal encounter. The Indian star shuttler won the first game by 21-19 before winning her second game to win it 21-17. Coming into the final Sindhu dropped just one game.

Sathiyan Gnanasekaran will play the bronze medal match against Paul Drinkhall of England. The bronze medal match starts at 3:35 pm.

Achanta Sharath Kamal won the bronze medal at Gold Coast and will be eyeing the gold medal in the men's table tennis singles final.  Sharath Kama defeated England's Paul Drinkhall 11-8, 11-8, 8-11, 11-7, 9-11, 11-8 to reach his second CWG final. The last time he won gold was in Melbourne back in 2006.

The Indian men's hockey team has never won a gold medal during the six editions of the Commonwealth Games. After winning two silver medals in the 2010 and 2014 editions and bronze in the last edition, India will look to change the colour of the medal to gold in Birmingham. Australia on the other hand has won all six golds to date.
