Ex-Yankees star Tanaka praises Japan teammates after historic baseball gold

Samurai Japan won their first official Olympic gold medal in baseball beating the U.S. 2-0 in the gold medal match at Yokohama Baseball Stadium on Saturday.

Baseball was contested in the Olympics for just the sixth time, the first since 2008,  and restored at the request of host nation Japan.

It already has been dropped for the 2024 Paris Games but may return for 2028 in Los Angeles and 2032 in Brisbane, Australia.
