FC Barcelona's transfer window in Summer 2024 isn't going to plan as they are once again riddled with financial woes and struggling to register new signings.

In a desperate bid to manage their finances, Barcelona had to let go of star German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan for a free transfer but according to reports even that might not prove to be good enough for the club to register new players.

Barcelona's frustrating financial situation

FC Barcelona had a lot of hopes going into the summer transfer window as they ambitiously plotted a move for Spain's Euro 2024 stars in Nico Williams and Dani Olmo.

While, Barcelona managed to nab Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig for 55 Million Euros initial fee with 7 Million Euros in addons, the club was rejected in its advances by Williams as he opted to stay at Athletic Bilbao.

Having signed Olmo on massive wages, Barcelona needed to facilitate departures to register Dani Olmo in time under the La Liga salary cap.

But as it turns out, despite the departure of Ilkay Gundogan to Manchester City on a free transfer Barcelona are still struggling to register Dani Olmo.
