Ernesto Valverde's days at Barcelona could be numbered after the Spanish giants have started the season on a very poor note. Fans are desperate for the Barcelona board to sack the 55-year-old manager as the dip in form of the defending LaLiga champions is quite visible. Barcelona hosted the Czech Republic-side Slavia Prague for their Matchday 4 clash of Champions League in which they were held to a 0-0 draw in front of their home fans. The visitors displayed an exceptional performance to deny a single goal to the hosts. Valverde's tactics clearly didn't fall in place as the Barca players looked clattered all over the field.

The Catalans entered the match after a humiliating 3-1 loss against Levante in LaLiga and the fans expected a lot more from the star-studded line-up in their mid-week fixture. The frustration amongst the fans started when AS Roma eliminated Barcelona from the quarter-finals of Champions League 2017-18 in the second-leg and Liverpool did the same to the Blaugrana in the semi-finals of Champions League 2018-19. Barca invested a lot in players like Frenkie de Jong, Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembélé and Philippe Coutinho over the years but have failed to reach the fans' expectation. Tuesday night draw against Slavia Prague has added fuel to the fire and Valverde's job at Barcelona looks to be in danger.
