'It’s A Statement Win': Barcelona Get Massive Win Over Atletico Madrid, Come Back From 2-0 Down To Win 4-2 In Madrid

FC Barcelona in their La Liga clash against Atletico Madrid, made a massive comeback to win the match 4-2.

FC Barcelona travelled to Madrid to take on Atletico Madrid in their La Liga match as the title race in the Spanish League is starting to heat up. FC Barcelona went into the clash having a match in hand as they look to pull away from challengers Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. As Barcelona faced against Atletico Madrid, they went down by two goals up until the 70th minute. It was a late comeback by the Catalan club as they came back from 2-0 down to win the game 4-2 against Atletico Madrid. 

Barcelona Pull Off Massive Comeback To Win Against Atletico 

FC Barcelona who have been in some of the best form of their life this season pulled off a massive comeback win against Atletico Madrid. In the 45th minute of the match, the deadlock was broken as Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez opened the scoring. It was doubled in the 70th minute by Alexander Sorloth.

Atletico Madrid believed they had the game in hand but Barcelona pulled off a massive miracle. Following Sorloth's goal, Lewandowski got a goal back for Barcelona. From then on it was a barrage of goals. Ferran Torres got Barcelona their second goal in the 78th minute. It was in the injury time that the comeback was completed as Lamine Yamal scored and Ferran Torres got his brace to help Barcelona beat Atletico Madrid 4-2. 

“It’s a statement win for us, allowing us to regain the lead with a game in hand,” said Barcelona star Lamine Yamal after the win.

Atletico Madrid Player Blames Workload For 4-2 Loss 

Atletico Madrid star Marcos Llorente following Atletico's loss against Barcelona blamed their UEFA Champions League match as the reason for their loss against Barcelona. He stated that the extra time in the UEFA Champions League that they had to play made all the difference.

“It was a weird game, we did well in the first half and had the game under control after scoring twice. I do think that the 120 minutes that we had to play in the Champions League made a difference, there was a letdown in the end,” said Marcos Llorente following Atletico Madrid's loss against Barcelona. 

Barcelona now sit at the top of the La Liga table with 60 points and have a game in hand.
