Barcelona news: Jordi Alba's experience on the big stage

Jordi Alba has been one of the world’s best left-backs over the past few years, having left Valencia for Barcelona in the summer of 2012 for a reported transfer fee of €14 million and establishing himself as one of the most important starters in the side ever since. Barcelona news: But Jordi Alba lacks an important skill?

In a recent television interview in Spain, Gerard Pique was talking about his other Barcelona teammate Ansu Fati getting a lift to training from his father but revealed that 30-year-old Jordi Alba also gets the same privilege. The Spaniard revealed that Alba neither knows how to drive nor has a driving license. Ansu Fati probably cannot own a driving license at the age of 17, which is why it is totally fair for him to ask his dad for lifts to the club’s training. But the same cannot be said about Alba, who is not only aged 30 but is also one of the most experienced footballers in the club.

Barcelona news: Jordi Alba's injury woes this season

On the pitch, the Catalan giants are set to be without the defender for a number of weeks after he suffered a fresh thigh injury in last week's goalless draw with Slavia Prague. It is believed to be a similar injury to the one he sustained in the Champions League stalemate with Borussia Dortmund in September. Alba is expected to miss upcoming LaLiga fixtures and their return Champions League meeting with Borussia Dortmund.
