Mohun Bagan asserted their dominance in the season's first derby, defeating East Bengal 2-0 and moving to second place in the Indian Super League standings on Saturday. Jamie Maclaren opened the scoring in the 41st minute in front of a sell-out crowd of 59,872 at Salt Lake Stadium, finishing calmly at the near post after taking advantage of Anwar Ali's poor defensive positioning and Hector Yuste's mistimed slide.
