'Get Used To It': France Boss CHALLENGES Kylian Mbappe To Raise Performance Despite Injury vs Spain

Kylian Mbappe's Euro 2024 campaign for France hasn't gone as per the lofty expectations linked with the player. Mbappe has only managed to score one goal at Euros and that too was a penalty against Poland. 

Some of Kylian Mbappe's struggles were down to his broken nose and playing with a supportive mask, but according to France boss Didier Deschamps that is no excuse and has challenged his captain to rise up from his injury and raise his performance for France in the Semi Final against Spain.  

Kylian Mbappe Challenged To Raise Performance

France are all set to face Spain in the semi final one of Euro 2024 on Tuesday 9TH July. 

Ahead of the all important clash against the tournament's favourites, Didier Deschamps attended the media in his press conference.

When asked about Kylian Mbappe and his French team players attributing the player's struggles at Euro 2024 to the face mask he is wearing, Deschamps was quick to say that given his injury, Kylian Mbappe has no other option but to play through the pain and get used to the mask.

"Kylian Mbappé will have to wear the mask for several weeks or months. He will have to get used to it,” said Didier Deschamps.  

Deschamps comments can be hopeful to spark a reaction from his star player as he knows that if France want to beat Spain and progress to the finals then Kylian Mbappe will have to be at his best. 

France's Underwhelming Euro 2024 Performance 

Not only has Mbappe underperformed, France as a whole have underperformed at Euros and have scraped their way through the Semi Finals of the competition.

France are yet to score a goal from open play at Euro 2024. They have scored only three goals in five games, two of which were own goals. The only goal a French player has scored in the tournament was Kylian Mbappe with his penalty against Poland. 

Up against France will stand Spain in the Semi Finals a team that has been sensational this tournament and are the only team to have a perfect record at Euros.
