FA in Talks with Manchester City FC's Pep Guardiola for England Football Manager Role: Reports

Pep Guardiola may be the FA's ideal candidate to take charge of England and end the team's title drought. But he has not yet responded to the situation.

There has been a lot of speculation about who will take over as manager of the England Men's National Football Team following Gareth Southgate's departure. A number of names, including Kieran McKenna, Thomas Tuchel, Jürgen Klopp, Lee Carsely, and Pep Guardiola, have been speculated as the top draws to the basket of names. Guardiola is the most well-known candidate to take over because of his legendary success with Manchester City FC in the Premier League. Amidst the excitement, rumours have emerged that the Football Association has seemingly made a move and reached out to Pep Guardiola about the position.

FA Informally Approaches Dream Manager Pick for England Football’s Manager Role | Reports

As per a report from The Times, the Football Association (FA) reached out to Pep Guardiola informally regarding the role at the beginning of the season. But a response from the Spanish manager is yet to come. The FA might be considering Guardiola as its dream choice to lead the national side and end the longstanding title drought. But Guardiola's response to the matter remains pending.

Notably, the manager of Manchester City has stated in the open that he has no plans to leave the club to play for the England national team. Guardiola stated that he is still considering his options and is not finished with City FC. Additionally, he denied the rumours that he will take over as England's next coach. But he also said that anything could happen, suggesting that the manager may have a never-say-never attitude.

Due to his continued affiliation with Manchester City FC and the amount of success he has brought in the club, the Spanish football manager was one of the strongest candidates for the position because of his familiarity with English football culture. It's unclear what Guardiola's future at City FC will hold, but he is still focused on the Premier League. In the mean time, Lee Carsely has taken up the role as interim manager of the English National Football team.
