FIFA Announces Record-Breaking $1 Billion Pool For Club World Cup: Here's The Complete Breakup Of Prize Money

FIFA announced a whopping $1 billion prize pool for the upcoming expanded Club World Cup. 32 teams will participate in this refurbished format.

FIFA announced a whopping $1 billion prize pool for the upcoming Club World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in the USA later this year. This edition will be the first time when 32 teams will be taking part in this marquee event.
The expanded tournament will take place from 14 June to 13 July, and the winning team could pocket up to $125 million, including a lucrative $40 million prize money for winning the final.

Clubs Set For A Huge Windfall In FIFA Club World Cup

Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Bayern Munich will earn more than the other teams based on different factors. An overall prize pool of £775 million has been allocated for all the 32 teams. £407 million will be divided among all the clubs, while the rest of the amount will be shared on the merit of performance.

European teams will get a huge £29.6 million for just taking part in the competition. CONCACAF, AFC, and CAF teams will get to the tune of £7.5 million as participating money.

FIFA Club World Cup Prize Money Break Up

Group Stage Win:  Â£1.5 million ($2 million/$1million)

Round of 16:   Â£5.8 million ($7.5 million+)

Quarter-final: £10.2 million ($13.125 million +)

Semi-final: £16.3 million ($21 million)

Finalist: £21 million ($30 million)

Winner: £31 million ($40 million)

Countries from each football federation, Asia (AFC), Africa (Caf), North and Central America (Concacaf), South America (Conmebol), Oceania (OFC) and Europe (Uefa), will participate in this tournament.  There is a ceiling of only two clubs per country, which means 2022 Champions League finalist Liverpool won't be a part of the event as Chelsea and Manchester City have already been confirmed on the victure of winning the UCL in 2021 and 2023, respectively. Seven teams used to participate in the old format, but now the new format will see more teams competing fiercely and will now be held every four years.
