'You Will See': Former France Striker Backs Kylian Mbappe To Star vs Spain Despite Poor Form in Euro

Despite scoring the only goal for France at Euro 2024, there is no denying that Kylian Mbappe is going through a poor run of form in the tournament. France have reached the Semi Finals of Euro 2024 despite scoring only three goals in the entire tournament, two of which were own goals and one was a penalty by Kylian Mbappe. 

In the semi finals France will face Spain who have been great throughout the competition and are the favourites. If France want to beat Spain then they will need to be much better and need Kylian Mbappe firing on all cylinders. Ahead of the semi finals against Spain, Kylian Mbappe has received backing from former France striker Nicolas Anelka despite his poor form.

Nicolas Anelka backs Kylian Mbappe to perform vs Spain 

Ahead of France's semi finals against Spain, Nicolas Anelka gave his verdict on why Kylian Mbappe has struggled throughout the tournament. 

Anelka cited that Kylian Mbappe has had two or three players defending him on all different occasions. The biggest reason behind Mbappe's lack of form is his nose injury according to Anelka.  

Kylian Mbappe broke his nose in the very first group game for France vs Austria at Euro 2024. Since then he has been playing wearing a supporting face mask to deal with the pain.

“Kylian has two or three players on him every time & on top of that he has nose injuries so it’s difficult to make a difference in these conditions,” said Nicolas Anelka on Kylian Mbappe's struggles. 

Despite the struggles, Nicolas Anelka was adamant that Kylian Mbappe would prove all his doubters wrong. 

“But he’s a fearsome player who can score at any time and he will prove it. You will see! It's been a good season. He always has good stats but people always want more,” said Nicolas Anelka. 

Spain and France will lock horns in the first semi final of Euro 2024 on July 9th, 2024 and Kylian Mbappe will need to pull up his weights.
