'Over And Out': Toni Kroos Bids Adieu! Pens A Love Letter To Football Upon Retirement

As Germany's Euro 2024 campaign came to an end, so did Toni Kroos' 17 year football career. Upon retirement, Kroos penned a love letter to thank football.

Toni Kroos considered as one of the greatest midfielders to have played the sport has said his final goodbye to Football upon retirement after Germany were knocked out of Euro 2024 in the quarterfinal against Spain.

Toni Kroos had announced that he will retire from Football after the conclusion of Euro 2024 and hoped to win the only trophy remaining in his career in his final Hurrah. But with Germany exiting in heartbreaking fashion curtains were called on Toni Kroos' career. 

As he retires from the sport and disappears into the shadows of Football history, Toni Kroos penned an emotional love letter to Football to say his final goodbye to the beautiful game.

Toni Kroos' love letter to Football

As Toni Kroos officially retires he took to Instagram to share a love letter to football. He thanked his fans and family for giving him immense support throughout his 17 year football journey.  

“So thats it. But before I take a break and at least try to realize what happened over the last 17 years I don't want to miss the opportunity to say thank you to everyone accepting me how and who I am. Thanks to all my fans around the world for your unconditional support. Thanks to all my clubs and coaches for believing in me. Thanks to all my teammates for making me feel welcome anytime”, wrote Toni Kroos. 

Toni Kroos was grateful of his friends and family throughout his career for keeping him level headed. 

"Thanks to my friends for always being honest with me no matter how successful i became. Thanks to my agents who became friends. Thanks to my parents for the best possible preparation to realise my dream. Thanks to my brother Felix Kroos for always being my number one fan. Thanks to my kids for being my biggest motivation to bring the best out of me - nothing better to see your Kids being proud of daddy. Thanks to my beautiful wife Jessica Kroos for being you. Never change. This success wouldn't have been possible without you. It's ours!, wrote Toni Kroos.

And in the end he thanked football for everything the sport gave him. 

“And last but not least: Thank you Football! You beautiful game. And... you're welcome! Over and out,” concluded Toni Kroos.
