Kylian Mbappe's actions 'FRUSTRATE' Man Utd legend Roy Keane after breaking his nose against Austria

In their UEFA Euro 2024 debut, France secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Austria in Group D. The only goal of the match came via an own goal by Maximilian Wöber in the 38th minute. The French team dominated possession with 52% and produced 14 shots, three of which were on target. The match witnessed 18 fouls, with Austria receiving 5 yellow cards. With this win, France joins the Netherlands at the top of Group D, setting a strong foundation for their Euro campaign. The match took place at the Merkur Spiel Arena.
Manchester United legend Roy Keane lambasts Kylian Mbappe for an incident after he broke his nose against Austria
After Kylian Mbappe was injured in the June 17 game against Austria, former Manchester United player Roy Keane questioned the French forward's behaviour. With their 1-0 victory, France had a good start to their Euro 2024 campaign.
The freshly signed Real Madrid youngster Mbappe suffered a bloody nose as he met with defender Kevin Danso's shoulder during a header in the closing seconds of the game. The personnel of his squad attended to him medically right away.
France manager Didier Deschamps was presented with a problem when Mbappe left the pitch since he could not replace him until play started again. Mbappe therefore returned to the pitch without the approval of referee Jesus Gil Manzano, temporarily reducing France to ten players.
During the game, Mbappe purposefully went to the ground to stop play, and Keane chastised him for it. Olivier Giroud eventually replaced him in the ninetieth minute. ITV reported Keane's disapproval of Mbappe's actions (via Standard). Roy Keane said:
“He gets an injury, obviously it's frustrating he's gone back on the pitch. Whether he's trying to stop the play... but he's gone on to sit on the pitch. I don't like to see this, this is out of order. Listen whether he's been instructed by the manager to go back, he's obviously had treatment, he's come off.”
"I don't mind he's gone back on the pitch. I know players can make mistakes. But to go back and sit on the pitch, he deserves that yellow card, I don't like to see it. No it's not (good sportsmanship),"
France will now be seen in action against the Netherlands on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
