Lampard: "City match will be off unless safety is guaranteed"

Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard said Saturday's Premier League match with Manchester City will be called off if the safety of the players can't be guaranteed - after City's game at Everton was postponed on Monday due to a further outbreak of coronavirus in their camp.

Speaking after the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa, Lampard said he expected to be given updates in the coming days but insisted "safety will be paramount".

Villa head coach Dean Smith revealed that his players have been told not to venture into shops and buy goods online instead in a bid to keep the virus out of the squad.
