Lionel Messi’s Argentina could play Lamine Yamal’s Spain as there is a huge possibility of Finalissima being hosted in Barcelona

Barcelona is rising as a top contender to host the fourth Finalissima, which will see Argentina's Lionel Messi squared against Spain. Although the precise date of the match is unknown yet, it is expected to be between October and November 2025. There have been several speculations that Lionel Messi could be seen in action at the Camp Nou once again but nothing has been confirmed yet about the venue.

A recently introduced event, the Finalissima sets the Copa America's champions against the UEFA European Championship's winners. Held at Wembley Stadium, Argentina, the 2021 Copa America winners, prevailed 3-0 against Italy, the 2020 Euro champions, in the most recent edition in 2022.

Bolavip Argentina claims that the freshly rebuilt home field of Barcelona, Spotify Camp Nou, is a strong possibility to host this next Finalissima. Currently under construction, the stadium is scheduled to grow to house 105,000 people by March 2026.

With an initial capacity of 64,000 Barcelona intends to return to playing at Camp Nou late 2024. The club is allegedly working with the municipal government to hasten building so they may host the Finalissima before the FIFA World Cup in 2026.

The game is probably going to be a memorable one, maybe including a face-off between 17-year-old current Barcelona wonder kid Lamine Yamal and former Barcelona icon Lionel Messi, who is the greatest ever in the club’s history. Lionel Messi may make a heartfelt comeback to Spain if the Finalissima takes place at the renovated Camp Nou. Messi departed his long-term club in August 2021 for free and joined PSG for the following two years to also leave for free and join the MLS team Inter Miami and has since said that he would want to return home in some way.
