'The Team Was Going To Win This Game': Manchester United Defeat Real Sociedad 4-1, Go Through To Europa League Quarterfinals

Manchester United bounced back to form in spectacular fashion in the UEFA Europa League as they got a massive win over Real Sociedad to go through to the quarterfinals. Manchester United hosted Spanish club Real Sociedad at the Old Trafford in Manchester for the second leg of their round of 16 clash. The first leg which had taken place in Spain had ended in a 1-1 draw. As the two teams met in the second leg, it was Manchester United who came out on top after a massive 4-1 win. 

Bruno Fernandes Stars In Man United's 4-1 Win 

Bruno Fernandes was the star of the match in Manchester United's 4-1 win over Real Sociedad as he scored a hattrick which helped United defeat the Spanish club. Real Sociedad got an early lead over Manchester United in the 10th minute as Mikel Oyarzabal successfully converted a penalty. 

Bruno Fernandes put the two teams back on level terms just six minutes after as he successfully converted a penalty of his own. Then it was all quiet until the second half when in the 50th minute Manchester United were awarded another penalty, which too was converted by Bruno Fernandes. Real Sociedad were reduced to 10 men in the 67th minute after Jon Aramburu was handed a red card.

Bruno got his hattrick in the 87 minute when he got his third goal. 

The fourth Manchester United goal came just minutes later in the extra time when Diogo Dalot got his name on the scoresheet. With this Manchester United secured a massive win and qualification to the quarterfinal of the UEL.

Ruben Amorim Overjoyed After Massive Win 

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim was overjoyed after Manchester United's massive win against Real Sociedad.

"It was a good performance. The physicality was there. Even without the sending off, you felt that the team was going to win this game,” said Ruben Amorim in the post match interview.
