Real Madrid were served another massive blow in their campaign to win the La Liga as they went down 2-1 to Real Betis. To put the nail in the coffin, the star of the match was former Real Madrid player and a club legend- Isco. Real Madrid are currently locked in a battle for the top spot of the La Liga with rivals FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. With the loss against Real Betis, Real Madrid are now on the backfoot in their title fight and are now sitting in third.

Real Madrid went down 2-1 in what was a massive blow to their La Liga campaign. Real Madrid got a strong start to their match as Brahim Diaz put up the European heavyweights a goal ahead within the first 10 minutes of the match.
Following the 1-0 lead, it seemed the match would go Real Madrid's way but in the 34th minute of the match, Johnny Cardoso got a goal back for Real Betis to put the two teams back on level terms. It was in the second half that the final blow was struck to Real Madrid when club legend Isco, who has won several Champions League titles with Real Madrid converted a penalty to send his former club to the back foot.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti opened up on his team's performance after the 2-1 defeat against Real Betis. Ancelotti did not mince his words as he said that Real Madrid did not play well and the result got away from them.

“We weren’t able to keep our initiative and the result got away from us. This is a hard blow, and we have to react. Today we didn’t play well,” said Carlo Ancelotti following the 2-1 defeat to Real Betis.
