'Not The Best': Ruben Amorim Weighs In Following Manchester United's 1-1 Draw Against Real Sociedad In UEL RO16 First Leg

Manchester United and Real Sociedad's Europa League round of 16 first leg clash ended in a 1-1 draw with the second leg to be played at Old Trafford.

Manchester United's troubles with their form do not seem to end as the club got a draw last night in their UEFA Europa League match against Real Sociedad. Manchester United got in coach Ruben Amorim into the fray a few months ago try and turn things around but there seems to be no improvement as the once legendary club is currently 14th in the English Premier League. Following their 1-1 draw to Real Sociedad, Manchester United head into the second leg of their Round of 16 match hoping to turn things around. 

Manchester United Settle For 1-1 Draw Against Real Sociedad

Before the start of the UEL season, Manchester United were considered as one of the heavyweights who could go on and win the tournament. Those aspirations of the ‘Red Devils’ have taken a bit of a hit after they drew in the first leg of their round of 16 match against Spanish side Real Sociedad.

Manchester United, a club who's form has been under massive criticism went up a goal against Real Sociedad thanks to youngster Joshua Zirkzee but that lead could not be held for very long as in the 70th minute, Man United conceded a penalty which was successfully converted by Sociedad's Mikel Oyarzabal to put the teams back on level terms.

Ruben Amorim On What To Expect In The Second Leg 

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim following the 1-1 draw said that Manchester United's decision making was not the best but they had a few good moments. He further stated that the second leg at the Old Trafford is going to be a completely different game and the pressure will be on his United side.

“Our decision-making in the final third was sometimes not the best, but we had good moments. It’s going to be a different game at Old Trafford and the pressure is going to be on us. We have to be ready,” said Ruben Amorim. 

Manchester United and Real Sociedad will meet for their second leg match next week on 13th March at the Old Trafford.
