Lionel Messi's football future has been the subject of speculation for a while. His current contract with Inter Miami is scheduled to expire in December this year and the Argentine hasn't committed to a new deal with the MLS side.

Messi's tearful exit from FC Barcelona has remained one of the most intriguing chapters in football history and the prospect of his return to his old stomping ground could emerge as one of the most sought-after transfers of recent times.
