Thierry Henry says Impact, missing Wanyama, obvious underdogs against Revs

The odds certainly appear stacked against the Montreal Impact when it meets the New England Revolution in an Eastern Conference play-in round game at Gillette Stadium. It marks Montreal's first appearance in the MLS playoffs since 2016 and with a victory the Impact would advance to a quarterfinal matchup against either Philadelphia or Toronto FC.

It marks Montreal's first appearance in the MLS playoffs since 2016 and with a victory the Impact would advance to a quarterfinal matchup against either Philadelphia or Toronto FC.

The Impact and New England met four times this season, with the Revolution winning the last three games at three different venues — the MLS is Back tournament outside Orlando, Red Bull Arena, where the Impact was forced to relocate due to COVID-19 border restrictions, and finally at Gillette Stadium, which is also home to the NFL's New England Patriots.

The Impact will yet again be lacking key personnel and will be challenged at midfield Friday night. Samuel Piette will serve a one-game suspension following his ejection from a 3-2 win over D.C. United in the final regular-season game. Victor Wanyama was representing Kenya in international competition and was unable to return in time for Friday's game, according to Henry.
