Wolfsburg beat Hertha 2-0 to consolidate third place in Bundesliga

Wolfsburg extended their unbeaten run to 10 games in all competitions, and kept an eighth clean sheet in a row, thanks to a battling performance in a 2-0 victory over Hertha Berlin.

Wolfsburg extended their unbeaten run to 10 games in all competitions, and kept an eighth clean sheet in a row, thanks to a battling performance in a 2-0 victory over Hertha Berlin.

In a game that was low on entertainment Wolfsburg did not manage a single shot on goal in the first half, but still went in 1-0 up at the break, thanks to an own goal from Lukas Klunter.

The home side sealed the deal in the 89th minute thanks to a steepling header from Maxence Lacroix.

And there was just time for Marin Pongracic to get himself sent of for a second offence.

Wolfsburg cemented third spot in the table three points clear of Eintracht Frankfurt and seven points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
